Celebrating 100
years of women’s votes
Today marks 100 years since some women were first granted
the vote, allowing women in Britain the right to vote in local and national
elections.
The suffragette’s movement began in the late 19th
century and changed British politics forever.
This year will remember those women who fought for our
rights such as Emmeline Pankhurst and Millicent Fawcett, who had major impact
on our lives to this day.
But what does it mean to be a woman in 2018? And how near
are we to equality between men and women in our society?
